Create Engaging TikTok Captions
Our TikTok Caption Framework:
Location, Location, Location:
Use the location feature to tag the area the post is relevant to (e.g. neighborhood, venue) to attract local audience.
For more general content, use your broader location (e.g. city, state).
Authentic Storytelling:
Share personal anecdotes, behind-the-scenes, or the "why" behind your work. People want to know what you’re thinking, your unique point of view (even if not industry standard), and your approach.
Let your personality and voice shine through. Speak like you’re in conversation with a human… it’s imperfect at times, feels natural, and is relatable.
Relevant Hashtags (5 max):
Use a mix of general and niche hashtags related to your content and industry. If I wanted to attract photographer web design clients I’d use something like (#webdesigner #squarespace #portfolio #photographer #websites).
Research popular hashtags in your space.
Avoid overly generic hashtags like #fyp.
Repurpose Content:
Clip and reuse existing photos, videos, or audio across multiple TikTok posts.
This saves time and ensures consistency!
Experiment & Iterate:
Try different caption styles, hashtag combinations, and content formats.
Pay attention to what resonates with your audience and adjust accordingly.
Always respond to comments, even if just with an emoji.
Observe what get’s the most likes/views after 7 days of posting 1x per day.
Consistency is Key:
Aim to post at least once per day, for 30 days straight, even if it's a simple video or text overlay. The goal is to see what people are gravitating towards.
Maintain a regular posting cadence to build momentum and engagement.
Remember, the goal is to create authentic, engaging content that connects you with your target audience on TikTok. Don't be afraid to have fun and let your personality shine through!
