Brain Dump First, Focus Later
Before You Lock In on a Goal—Have a Brain Dump Session First!
One of my favorite practices before I get clear on the next goal I’ll focus on is to brain dump every single thing I want, small and large, on paper.
Grab a piece of paper (yes, actual paper) and write everything that comes to mind. I’m talking the full spectrum of your wants: material desires, wild dreams, financial goals, lifestyle upgrades, relationship wishes, career shifts, spiritual intentions, all of it. Nothing is too big or too small.
Want a new wardrobe? Write it. Want a new relationship? Write it. Want to make $100 today? Yep, write that too. Want to speak on a panel in Paris next year or move to a city that inspires you? Put it down.
This isn’t about creating a perfectly curated to-do list. This is your “everything list.” The unedited, unapologetic, get-it-out-of-your-head-and-onto-paper list.
Once it’s all out in front of you, you’ll probably start to see patterns. Themes. Priorities. You’ll start to feel into what actually matters right now—what feels alive and doable, what 1 goal might automatically get you a few others, and what can wait or evolve.
Clarity usually comes after the expression, not before. So don’t hold back.
Let it spill. Then choose.
